I.M.Pei
I.M.Pei is a Chinese architect who was considered the 'master of modern architecture'. Pei was renown for his modernist ideas especially in the realm of architectural cubism.
At a young age Pei moved to America where he moved straight into Architectural Studies at numerous locations but disliked the trends of teaching. In his spare time however Pei individually studied upcoming architects and their works including Le Corbusier.
His early works such as the L'Enfant Plaza Hotel in Washington DC and the Green Building at MIT helped Pei to start on a positive note in the architectural world, however his first building that came with great recognition was the National Center for Atmospheric Research. This new stature led to the selection as chief architect for the JFK Library.
After the developments of his projects Dallas city Hall and the East building of the National Gallery of Art, Pei reutrned to china to design hotels and skyscrapers in Hong Kong.
In the 1980's however Pei was given the job of designed the glass and steel pyramid structure of the Louvre in Paris.
