Reflection

As my work continues through the tedious task of Assignment 1, I am now starting to fully understand what it is we need to do and why we are doing it. This assignment has provided me and other students with there first grasp at what the future is in not on the realm of architecture, but instead that of the whole world. Through the development of the following tasks are all heavily impacted upon by my architect I.M. Pei and comprehensively bring forward the choices I wished to make.
Folded Paper - This was the first task of the semester, it bought forward not only a lot of fun but a lot of stress. As I attempted to complete this task I would of gone through at least 30 sheets of paper, testing and trying not to rip the sheet at all. In the end, my two structures were extremely basic, yet both conveyed the building I had chosen to relate them to by I.M. Pei.
Environments Environments were related purely to the creature itself and this made this task slightly easier than the first. Sketches of all three environments I had chosen were composed and represented the environments where I believe these creatures would thrive. I chose Louvpard- Mountainous Cat living in an environment next to a cliff with plenty of space to move and Vitra Eagle's Freiheit- Eagle living in a snowy mountainous area.
Dwelling The dwelling however unlike the environments, were based off both the creature and our chosen architect. This added stress as at first I didn't know how to make a cave into a structure similar to that of the work of I.M. Pei. After researching his works, I came to the understanding that he was a "Brutalist" and "Monumental" architect, that meant he used structures such as concrete to make his works. After this I decided to make the cave strongly geometric structures that could then be made with such materials as concrete.
AR/Markers This task started slowly for me but has progressed recently into the markers I have chosen. The animations for me did not work in BuildAR and I had trouble with this part of the task, and I am still yet to decide what will replace this.
