Inspiration for new model

Concept of Public and Private Spaces

Hilton Hotel Sydney after Renovation

For my model reinterpretation, I have decided to transform my house from a private residence into a modern motel similar to the Hilton. With this I am looking to adapt the Lubberring Residence into an open, approachable motel for the public, but still comprising of the private spaces present in the current property.

To achieve this, the carport of the original building is taken under the building to act as an entrance to the private carpark for patrons of the motel. The main frame of the building sits above this but is expanded to create a podium with a glass front to allow for views from the public. Atop this sits the extruded rear of the building, where the rooms of the motel are located, each is stacked in two series above each other to create two towers. These towers provide a view over the city to the front with dual balconies for each room, yet also provide private space in the back to allow people to live their everyday lives without the hassle of people seeing them.
